And received a certificate of commitment to the principles of the Code of Conduct for Palestinian NGOs

Monday 11/28/2016 - D. Mohamed Mahmoud Al Fararjah representing Al Ofoq Foundation for Youth Development, Received a certificate of commitmhent to the principles of the Code of Conduct for Palestinian NGOs during a ceremony organized by NGO Development Center NDC. The ceremony is attended by members of authentication council, the Management Board of NDC, representatives from civil unions and representatives of involved civil institutions. In reality, 23 civil institutions was granted the certificate of the 70 Foundation applied for it. As a result, Al Ofoq deserved it after many administrative and financial procedures followed by the ratification of the Council.

Granting these certificates is to activate and strengthen the commitment system for the Code of Conduct, which represents a pioneering initiative for self-regulation in order to strengthen the Palestinian civil institutions, based on transparency, accountability and good governance.

It should be noted that the Code of Conduct for Palestinian NGOs, which was launched in 2008, sets the priorities and the instructions of the civil institutions, and help them to gain confidence and to develop appropriate governance practices, and determine the basic rules that the departments and boards of directors and crews of civil institutions must be adhered to when implementing functions. It reflects the international standards of good governance, then they have been adopted by the civil society initiative of the League of Arab States like amodel Code of Conduct for civil institutions in the Arab world.

Dr. farajah thanked the Council and Board of Directors of NDC for all efforts in order to distribute certificates of commitment to the principles of the Code of Conduct, hoping that Al Ofoq continue to progress for in terms of internal and external procedures.
