Al Ofoq with Anti-cyber crime Police organize a workshop in Ramallah

  • 20November 2016, Al Ofoq Foundation for Youth Development in collaboration with“Anticybercrime police” and Al Hayat Association for Development work in Ramallah and Al Bireh, organized a workshop about ways of prevention and treatment methods of this problem. This workshop was organized due to the rise of cybercrime phenomenon in the entire world and in Palestine. It targets all segments of society, specially the youth sector and the social and psychological consequences of those crimes.

     

    Police team, led by Lieutenant colonel Samir Al Hindi, presented a comprehensive picture about the most prominent penetration methods followed by pirates. Moreover, he presented many realistic examples that have taken place in Palestine, targeting  young people of  both sexes and causing many of societal crises. The meeting provided also several advices on how to use methods of safe use for these social media and smart devices. For examples, they focused on the necessity to be accurate in choosing passwords so they are not the date of birth or mobile number,and also the necessity of changing the passwords from time to time. In addition, they advanced to avoid selling the devices due to the possibility of retrieving stored data.

     

    At the end of the meeting, Al Ofoq represented by Director of Training Department Mr. Ibrahim Suleiman, thanked Police  and Security establishment on their great cooperation in the service of Palestinian people in order to preserve civil and social peace.
