Al Ofoq in collaboration with Al Hayat Association organize a workshop on youth initiatives in Ramallah

16 October 2016, Al Ofoq in collaboration with Al Hayat Association for Development and Volunteer work, organized a workshop,divided into three meetings, on “Youth Initiatives”. These meetings were represented by Suleiman Ibrahim,Director of Training Department in Al Ofoq Foundation, and Mister Amir Fararjah.  The first meeting, attended by 22 students from Universities of Berzeit and Jerusalem, included many discussions and interactions points and provided many of concepts associated with the subjects of initiative and spirit of initiative. Then the workshop confirmed the most successful initiatives factors in terms of planning, examine the need, leadership, the faith in the idea and the diversity and integration between the work teams. Moreover, the meeting discussed the importance of Palestinian youth engagement in different initiatives that contribute to community development and serve the largest number of target groups.

The second meeting on 23 October, which was presented by Suleiman Ibrahim, delivered personal preparation and the importance of scientific and practical experiences to be able to compete and to be creative. In addition, he presented the preparation of CV and the qualities of the leader that make the person unique and able to work in all circumstances. Suleiman highlighted the importance of developing personal conscious and intellectual. He added that the Palestinian youth keeps creative and capable of giving for building and develop his society, therefore the difficult situations.

The last meeting on 30 October which was presented by Amir Fararjah ,delivered the theme of body language and communication skills. It including the methods followed by the individual to expresses himself through body language. The Foundation added that this workshop is part of Youth Awareness Project, which aims to educate the youth generation of its importance and its ability to positively influence the Palestinian society.

The workshop presented a variety of activities like tests and trainings by dividing students into groups for discussing a number of topics related with the title of the workshop. Finally,at the last meeting in this workshop,they extracted personal conclusions about the concept and the associated contents.

Suleiman said that the practical training of youth earns them several skills and make them able to compete in the labor market. Furthermore, Malak Karajah, Program Coordinator in Al Hayat Association, said that the positive interaction and ideas presented by the participants, proof the importance of meetings that aimed to confirm the culture of self-confidence and working with young people in order to serve the local community. Karajah confirmed that Al Hayat continues to provide targeted programs with partner institutions for access to the largest possible number of youth groups.

At the end of the workshop, Al Ofoq distributed certificates for students with confirming the active role of young people and their abilities to change. In conclusion, Al Hayat Association thanked Al Ofoq on this workshop and praised the importance of communication between the two Foundations to make other workshops aim to achieve the largest number of students.
