Al Ofoq support Bethlehem Star cultural Center by School Bag Project

Monday 19 September 2016 in Bethlehem, Al Ofoq Foundation for Youth development supported Bethlehem Star cultural Center by school bags. This project is part of Economic Empowerment program, established by Al Ofoq. School Bag Project for poor students from needy families and Net Kitaby Project in Palestine, were funded by Arab Bank for Economic Development in Africa and the Islamic Development Bank.

Al Ofoq Foundation, by School Bag Project, has distributed 13030 school bags in Palestine (All area of the West Bank, Jerusalem and Gaza). 3510 school bag with their stationary, were distributed in Jerusalem in collaboration with Women’s Center of Shu’fat. Then, 3510 school bags with their stationary were distributed in Gaza in cooperation with Palestinian Forum for promoting development. Finally, 6010 school bags with their stationary distributed in the West Bank included a number of schools and related institutions from various provinces.

The distribution process continued a whole week in the West Bank like Ramallah, Nablus, Jericho, Bethlehem and Hebron. These provinces were selected according to Atlas of Poverty and in cooperation and coordination with Ministries of Education and Social Development. Moreover, the institutions of civil society and privet partners including institutions and related partners. School Bag Project is one of the important projects that are executed over three years since the foundation of AL Ofoq. The supporting of Bethlehem Star cultural Center is to achieve the goals and the vision of Al Ofoq Foundation which is represented by Economic Empowerment for Palestinian families. And also, to create relations with related institutions. 

Bethlehem Star cultural Center is one of institutions which contribute in the empowerment and development of youth capacities in their various ages, especially in professional fields. In addition, the center encourages children and Young people to learn in all professional and academic fields and provides them with support tools to empower their abilities. Based on the pre-cooperation with the center, it has been supporting themby a group of school bags todistribute them for selected students. Therefore, School Bag Project represents an important part of the process of continuous support for students and youth.
